Before I start let just tell you, I’m no hippy chaining myself to a thousand year old tree, but do care for our planet.  If we don’t care about our planet, the planet is going to be a mess.  We must all do our part in saving the planet.

One way of doing this is using solar energy instead of electricity.  Solar energy cost no money, therefore it is also a cheaper option.  There are solar powered geysers and solar powered garden lights.  You will save a lot of money on your electricity bill if you get a solar powered geyser.  If you think about it, the two appliances that take the most electricity are a geyser and a kettle.  If your geyser is solar powered, that will make our electricity bill a lot less.  As for the kettle, try boiling water on a stove or gas burner.  Solar powered garden lights will not make a big difference but it every little bit helps.

Another way is to recycle.  A lot of people think this is not necessary, but it is!  Look at all the garbage dumps, they just keep getting bigger and bigger.  If we do not recycle, we are going to have a problem on how to get rid of garbage in the future.  So next time you drink a coke, recycle the can instead of just throw it into the dustbin.
